I hear you Emiko! Sometimes, it is really nice to just cook something for yourself. I often get this sudden hankering for something from my childhood that I know won't be appreciated by my boys. Taking that time to just cook something for me is so soothing and meditative. Your tart looks gorgeous and the kitchen looks fabulous! Love from Sydney! <3
Dear Sneh! This! Yes, I have this too -- and I keep my stash of precious Japanese ingredients like umeboshi, red bean sweets and pickled daikon for myself, no one else seems to be interested but sometimes I just need to make a meal with those flavours when I feel a bit homesick!
I definitely think that a load of herbs in here would be a lovely addition, I was thinking finocchietto too which I added to the salad as an afterthought!
Thank you Gabrielle! So busy, but exciting. After all the recipe testing and book writing too, campaigning and appointments, one thing after another, I feel like it's been the longest time since I've cooked something just for me -- not work or anyone else. It reminded me how happy cooking makes me!
Emiko, I am so thrilled that you reached your target for enoteca Marilu! And I hope that one day in the future I will find myself there learning and enjoying.

Yum, that tart is something I would love. (Maybe with a hint of dill? it should work nicely with the ricotta and anchovies.)

Such busy, busy days! But I’m so happy you reached Kickstarter funding point, and those baby olive trees are just the most lovely hopeful sight.
Cooking for one’s own cravings is the BEST “self care” and that tart looks delicious 💕.
