So we'll written. Your girls are absolutely blessed! I also love how they are so different when it comes to food. Also, I know what I'm making this holiday season when my family friend with the giant persimmon tree brings me a bag-full!

Such a brilliant essay Emiko about a very important topic. I have been working on my attitude to food and how it has been so skewed by diet culture and the messages that we all get exposed to. It is hard to do after 30 years thinking the same things about fat and sugar and what I "should" be eating. I love Luna's joy and enthusiasm around food and life in general. It is this joy that I aspire to achieve again in my life.

Emiko, thank you so much for allowing us into your beautiful kitchen and family. I LOVE your posts and adore your girls. I get so excited when I see Luna in your posts. She really makes my day. I don't think there is anyone more happy and down to earth than Luna. At all my family catchup lunches and dinners where there is a feast of fresh homecooked food, I am surrounded by people who are constantly talking about dieting and feeling guilty after eating the delicious meals prepared with love. I always say the happiest people on earth are those that eat. I wish I was the little girl that lived next door to you. I would come over and pull up a chair next to Luna and join in her joy and zest for life. xxxx

Thank you Rosie, sometimes I do think we all need a bit more of that joyful innocence that children have around the simple things that make them happy -- like food! x
