I normally go simply for cheese. I try not to keep ready snacks at home (crisps, pretzels, et al.) because the combination of fat and salt is like crack to me. Especially if the snack is super crispy.
Oh we love cheese and anything super crispy here too! Luna often asks for something "crunchy", I often make popcorn or even crisp up some slices of old focaccia in the oven with some olive oil drizzled over until they're like crackers when we have those cravings!
When I was a teenager, I used to make pasta (usually spaghetti - al dente) and then crisp them up in a pan with plenty of oil, salt, and chili flakes until they were rigid and brittle. So good.
A bowl of pastina in broth, with plenty of grated parm. Sometimes with an egg beaten in, other times some with cubed up mozzarella. But this looks wonderful and comforting. There's a Japanese market in DC. I'll look for those dried mochi blocks.
I love soups with an egg beaten in, stracciatella-like or Chinese or Japanese egg soups are similar too. You're right, very comforting, this would be right up there with Marco's most comforting dishes.

SWOON!
Kimchee fried rice. Never fails to hit the spot!
SO good, also have you tried kimchi in grilled cheese sandwiches? It kind of reminds me of this mochi :) Now I need to find some kimchi!
I can't eat cheese. Photos of kimchee grilled cheese break my heart as they look so amazing!
Oh no! Kimchi fried rice it is :)
But... have you tried kimchee avocado toast? That is also so, so good!
Brilliant!
