All my new classes, events and workshops coming up!
MARKET CLASSES
I run market day cooking classes from our Enoteca Marilu kitchen on most Tuesdays. Almost all my market classes are booked from now until late November (I think there may be a couple spots left on October 29), but if you’re thinking of attending a class next year, all the dates are up now for all of 2025!
REGIONAL ITALIAN NATURAL WINES
October 9, 2024: This is Marco’s baby and I love this class. I cook lunch and he opens a whole lot of his favourite wines, taking you from north to south. It’s fun, any level of wine knowledge/interest can enjoy this one. Read more about it here, or book directly here.
PAINTING CLASS WITH MOLLY REEDER
October 20, 2024: The uber-talented watercolour artist Molly Reeder (below) will be in Tuscany in October and we have devised this wonderful day visiting the farmer’s market and a forgaging walk to choose your subject, then we head to the enoteca to paint with Molly for a 2 hour class, followed by a lunch prepared by me, with natural wines. It is suitable for beginners to advanced painters and will be a beautiful, creative and delicious day. Details here and with just a couple of spots left, you can book here.
GOHAN ITALIAN BOOK EVENTS
These will mostly be in Italian because Gohan Cucina Giapponese di Casa has just been published in Italian by Slow Food Editore! But if you are around, please do come and say hello.

WORKSHOPS
All of my workshops for 2024 in San Miniato are now fully booked but we have just had a cancellation for one spot for our much-anticipated white truffle workshop, 12-16 November. Here’s more about the white truffle festival in San Miniato, which coincides with the workshop. Email vino@enotecamarilu.com if you’d like to join us!
November 16 - 23, 2024 Culinary Tuscany with Stellavision
I’m also hosting a workshop with Stellavision and founder Zoe Shapiro (you can read more about her on this post). Zoe’s trips are size inclusive — this means she has really thought about all the tiny little details to make your visit to Italy not only comfortable but absolutely joyful. November is a delicious month, perfect for visiting my favourite hot springs and all the best produce — white truffles included! All details here.
Sicilian Spring Harvest Workshop 2025
I will be back at the dreamy Anna Tasca Lanza cooking school in central Sicily to host a workshop from April 28-May 3, 2025, where we will be cooking and eating together on a working farm. Scores of chefs and food lovers have made their way to this food mecca, from Alice Waters to Renee Erickson to David Tanis. The cooking classes will be inspired by what’s in the garden at the time (hopefully there will still be spiny artichokes in season!), think also things like handrolled pasta, handmade ceramics, fresh ricotta and more. See all the details here.
The Venetian Lagoon Workshop 2025
There are two dates this year due to high demand! This is a trip that I have carefully designed ever since writing Cinnamon & Salt to share with you the quickly changing Venetian lagoon and to show you a Venice that is hardly known. I work with the wonderful team at Italy Segreta for this one, here are all the details.

And finally….
Japan Workshop - coming soon!
I have had requests and so I am looking into this one, possibly for autumn 2025. I will hopefully have more information for you soon, but just to put it out there, this is a trip that will involve visiting artisanal producers such as a tofu maker, a miso or soy sauce brewery (the fact they call them breweries is a clue as to the fascinating process!). There will be cooking classes too, while also having time to visit an onsen (hot springs!) and eat at some wonderful places. This is slow travel, we will be visiting quiet villages in rural Japan to show you the real Japan outside of the bustling big cities. Stay tuned!
Is there anything else you would really like to know about or see? I’m working on a couple of really interesting things to add to the list, some are led by guests who I have invited to Enoteca Marilu to teach with us - will share more soon. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments!
Would the possible Japan tour be suitable for vegetarians?
